Info: The Night Dragon lives all over the wold except for cold places like Antarctica, Alaska, etc. It's so intelligent it can outsmart humans. Night Dragons are mostly nocturnal so they like sleeping in caves and forests and it hunts alone. They are carnivores; while flying in the night sky, it's almost impossible to see. Example: one wouldn't know a Night Dragon was in a moonless, starless, black sky if it has its eyes closed if it was hovering in the air, and/or just flying since it's a silent flier. They have venomous bites; if two or more of these creatures recognize each other as relatives, a mysterious aura gives off them. Both genders will fight, no matter the gender sometimes. Mostly over territory or protection. It can also stand, walk and fight on its hind legs perfectly. A Night and Sky Spirit Dragon(s) can mate, but it's highly extremely rare and the result of babies is a five percent chance. When it senses as nearing death of one of their kind or a close companion, they release an eerie, howl-like screech. It's an extremely fast and great flier. The tail flight fins keep it balanced. They can be great companions for life, but both in the wild and treated badly; it can be one vicious, brutal, hostile and aggressive creature. Checking the gender is the same as checking a Leopard Gecko's. (Just saying), but one needs to use a black light because of its body color. Best to check when it's a month old. And they're great swimmers.

Night Dragons can experience anger, fear, sadness, happiness, anxiety, etc. They show these feelings through their own ways. Example: They’ll know if a companion has died or left, they’ll want to be alone, eat less, and their communication will sound mournful. When happy, they’ll be playful and hyper; they will want to fly and play or cuddle. Their eyes glow dimly at night. Albino Night Dragons are a medium to dark grey; which is extremely rare. Their venom rapidly decreases blood pressure, destroys white blood cells, causes blood poisoning and prevents muscle contraction. They show dominance through their strength, tail whipping/slamming. They challenge each other by facing one another screeching and roaring before a fight begins. Using a saddle or harness isn’t needed when flying on a Night Dragon. No matter how fast. They will make sure you are safe and not fall off. They will protect their companions with their lives; a bond with one can become unbreakable. However, when threatened or angry, they will get fierce. Showing their dominance, cloak their bodies in a shadowy mist and will show they will attack to defend themselves. They are excellent climbers and swimmers who can dive two miles down and hold their breath for up to an hour-half. Also, Night Dragons can live for three months without food and two weeks without water. When fighting, they tuck their wings, flight and flight tail fins tightly close to their bodies/tails to prevent damage, unless in the air.

Baby Night Dragon Info: After they first hatch, they can instantly open their eyes. The best time for them to choose and imprint on someone is right after birth or a month old. Sometimes, they’ll be born with the learning instinct to teach themselves how to fly when they become 2 months old. They’re also born with fully developed teeth and claws. And they love playing with slinkies, snuggle with blankets, play with bandanas for some reason and eat peanut butter. If frightened or angry, they’ll bite and lash with their claws. Night Dragons reach their max growth at 18 years old, and become fully mature adults at 20 years old. Babies are also curious but fidgety, so a person has to be patient.

Bringing a baby home: They will be nervous and may not eat for the first couple of days. They also may rush to hide within something and not come out for a long while. But if one uses the instructions on how to train and tame, they’ll warm up to you, fallow you around and play eventually.

Appearance:
Pitch, jet-black body color with slim body, large eyes with slit pupils and inner eyelids (which are blackish-grey), sharp, pointy teeth with a forked tongue. Short snout, 3 fingers and a thumb on both hands, 3 toes on both feet, webbed hands and feet, very sharp, sickle-like claws on each finger and toe. Flight fins on end of tail, beginning of tail, on back of hind legs and three fins on either side of the head. Spines on back of front legs, large, bat-like wings. Can be born with markings on bodies and with different eye colors. Eyes always have black specks in them though. Cuts and holes can be earned by accidents and/or fights mostly in the wings.

Speed, Stealth, Strength: Night Dragons can fly faster than the speed of light, and is apparent they can teleport using a shadowy ability. They can run 60 MPH swiftly on land, and they hardly make any noise on land if they’re hunting. Prey will not see what strikes them from the dark even if they do hear them. Their venom kills prey instantly and while hunting in flight, they make no noise at all. Night Dragons are able to calculate their persistence and their prey’s position. They time perfectly when they strike. A Night Dragon can open its moth 85 degrees and can grind the biggest skyscrapers to mere dust with a powerful shadow-like attack. Also they can carry 1,100 pounds when full grown in flight or on land; and can take down a 2-story building with a strike from its tail. They have extremely high agility thanks to their sleek and streamline bodies. Very powerful and awesome fighters.

Communication: Their screeches and roars can be as loud as a fighter jet’s engine. They use hisses, growls, pulsing noises, howling, yowling, chattering, chuffing and more to speak to one another.

Senses and Intelligence: They have very keen and acute hearing and smell, as they can catch the scent of food buried deep underground and smell water 30 miles away. Night Dragons can tell the differences of different textures. This Animal can hear anything 50 miles away and can spot a mouse under cover 100 feet away. They can see 20 miles away, but their vision becomes better at night. They’re so intelligent they outsmart humans. When small enough to live in a house, they can learn how to open doors and will appear as if they’re figuring things out. (They seem to show human intellegence sometimes). Their sense of taste is 600 times stronger than a humans, and they can understand human speech.

Companionship: If Night Dragons accept each other as friends, they nuzzle and lightly nip. If not, they’ll either won’t want anything to do with each other or try to kill one another. Especially babies. An adult will teach a baby everything a baby needs to know if accepted.

Alpha Stage: This happens if a Night Dragon is in an extreme fight. All of their power in them builds together, fueling the dragon and morphing its body as a shadowy, wispy figure. Their eyes appear as if they’re glowing, but the pupils are gone. Their roars are louder, giving it a much more intimidating and frightening look. They’re also much more powerful. But once out of this stage, Night Dragons become exhausted because of how much energy it absorbs.

Taming And Training: It’s better to tame and train when they’re babies; and they respond well to a clicker. Show you’re not a threat in anyway, use slow hand motions. Talk softly and soothingly. Make yourself small but if they become fidgety and nervous, back away for a bit. Time and patience is key.

In The Wild: It’s obviously impossible to tame and train a wild Night Dragon. They are more aggressive. Some pairs mate for life and their habitats are listed in the first information section.

Diseases/Illnesses: Night Dragons can only catch three diseases/illnesses. And they are:

Black Rot- Both a disease and a fatal injury; the Dragon inflicts an open wound to the stomach (torn open, gaping hole). Seals any infection inside when the injury heals, since they are extremely fast healers.  Infection spreads, eventually turning their intestines black and begins to rot. They can live for 2-3 months with this; but will hardly drink and eat before they die. Cure: Immediately take them to a dragon specialist; high antibiotics and water will be needed. Surgery will eventually be also needed. It takes a month to recover. 50-50% chance of survival, but this usually happens in the wild.

Respiratory Infections- (Happens both in the wild and captivity). Caused by a bacterial infection in the lungs; mostly because of environmental conditions.

Cure-  Very high class A systemic antibiotics, fluid and nutrient replacement. Takes 2  ½ weeks to recover.

Shadow Build Up- In which too much of the Dragon’s power builds up too quickly and is unleashed without any control. Eventually gets them sick with internal infections and slight internal bleeding.

Cure- Immediate help from Dragon specialists, antibiotics and possible surgery if internal bleeding happens. Takes three weeks to recover, but it’s a very, very rare disease.

YSWD: 1909. A group of explorers were investigating a newly discovered forest when they heard screeching and roaring none of them recognized. They fallowed the sounds until a large black body flew at a high speed above them. Upon finding a cavern as they tried to fallow it, they saw a pair of these Animals at the entrance before they disappeared inside. When the explorers returned, they told the public what they saw and drew pictures of their descriptions. This species is believed to have been around for 80 million years; but evolution has barely touched it.

Nature: Hardy

Family: unknown (Parents, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, sons, daughters, grandparents and cousins.)

Loves: me, night time, Halloween, shrimp, flying, adventure, life, traveling, summer, spring, oceans, balls, laser lights, swimming, the moon, snow on warmish winter days, his family, attention, etc.

Hates: bright light, vegetables, dangers to the ones he loves, etc.

Fears: Death, not being able to fly (the thought of it), creepy noises

Bio:  He is VERY protective and will show it through extreme aggression and violent fights. But he is friendly and playful. Nighgalle has a very curious nature who can become hyper with his cat-like playfulness. However, he will hiss, growl and threaten to strike if threatened or agitated; also, he will not be so friendly when he meets someone new. It takes a month for him to determine if he can like and trust a new person. It not, he won't be very nice towards them. He is a happy and good Dragon though. When his parents had their clutch of eggs, a human team took them away a week later when both parents were out hunting. The eggs were hatched in a pet shop. Nighgalle and his siblings were put up for adoption a month after they were born, kept in a large box outside the store. He was eventually the last one left; One cold, rainy night, a very small girl and her aunt found him shivering and scared as they were rushing home. The girl convinced her aunt to take him home; and they did. He was then named Nighgalle and became a great flier. Him and the girl became the best of friends growing up. Eventually he met Keiko, the Glacier Lizard. He loves photobombing.

On the night of 11/12/15, Nighgalle and one of his long lost brothers, who haven't seen each other since they were taken away from one another 18 years ago; found each other. His brother became extremely aggressive and hostile, scarred and beaten because of a terrible owner. And proved to be a danger to everyone Nighgalle loves. A long battle that that shook the heavens took place. Nighgalle got scars, but scared his brother and 12 babies away, saving everyone.

No one can barrow, use, steal Nighgalle. Wish I could redo his wings again...-_- A Sky Spirit Dragon is a dragon OC that a friend of mine has. Nighgalle is the Night Dragon in the picture above. First OC ever. I first drew him when I was like...two or three...not like this obviously, XD, but as the years past he's evolved.
